“I Didn’t Want to Smile”: Experiences of Oral Healthcare in Aotearoa New Zealand and the Case for Dental for All - report launch

Tuesday 25th February 2025, 11am-12pm
two/fiftyseven, 2/57 Willis Street, Wellington Central
Facebook event

The Dental for All campaign is releasing a report which contains ten stories of experiences with the current dental system in Aotearoa New Zealand. The report finds that oral healthcare is too expensive - and this is preventing people from accessing the care they need. Story-sharers in this report tell experiences of pain, stigma, delaying treatment, and making impossible choices about their healthcare.

This report will be launched at a short event at two/fiftyseven in Pōneke. We will hear from two speakers, report author Kayli Taylor and Dental for All coalition member Brooke Pao Stanley. Tea, coffee and morning tea will be provided. We will have an NZSL interpreter, and the event will also be livestreamed from Facebook and Instagram.

We welcome everyone who is interested in Dental for All campaign and oral health in Aotearoa to come along, to learn about the impacts of our current oral health system, and why we are calling free, universal, and Te Tiriti-consistent oral healthcare in Aotearoa.
